- It is said in the scriptures that on the day of Sakat Chauth, laddu made of sesame should be offered to Lord Ganesha.
- On the day of Sakat Chauth, chant the seed mantra of Lord Ganesha ‘Om Gan Ganpataye Namah’. It is believed that this brings happiness and prosperity to people.
- On the fast day of Sakat Chauth. One should go to the temple of Lord Ganesha. You can worship Lord Ganesha and offer sesame seeds. This will solve the problems in your job and you will get a better chance of success.
- To worship Lord Ganesha, worship Ganesha Yantra, keep betel nut in two betel leaves at the place of worship. Then tie the betel nut in a red cloth and keep it in the safe. This will remove your financial problems and provide solutions to life’s problems.
- For the long life of the child, Arghya should be mixed with milk in water. And offered to the moon at the time of moonrise. On the day of Sakat Chauth or Sankashti Chaturthi.
Do not do on Sankashti Chaturthi in Vikram Samvat 2081
- If you are worshiping Lord Ganesha on this Chaturthi. Then you should not include basil leaves in the offering or prasad. Because Tulsi is cursed by Lord Ganesha. He is prohibited from worshiping Ganesha.
- On the day of this Chaturthi vrat. He fasting person should not wear black clothes. It is considered equivalent to negativity.
- If you observe fast on it Chaturthi. Then you should not disturb Ganesha’s sawari Mushak (rat) even by mistake. Doing so may anger Ganesha.
- After worship on this Chaturthi , one should not consume beetroot, carrot, radish. Including this sweet potato, jackfruit, garlic, onion etc. in the Parana food. These are prohibited. If you do this then you will not get the full results of the fast.
- Do not consume Tulsi on the day of this Chaturthi. Because this fast is for Lord Ganesha. Doing this may make them angry.
- The fast of this Chaturthi is not complete without worshiping the Moon and offering water. If you do not do this. Your fast will not be successful.
- Tamasic food should not be consumed before it Chaturthi fast. Do not think or say good or bad about anyone during the fast.
One should observe the fast while remaining pure in mind, actions and words. Actions done with an evil heart also yield negative results. Avoid doing this.
Sankashti Chaturthi Katha
Let us now know the glory of Shri Ganesh ji according to Sankashti Chaturthi Katha.
According to Hindu scriptures, when Lord Vishnu’s marriage was fixed with Lakshmi ji. At that time wedding preparations begin. All the gods were invited to their marriage. But Ganeshji did not receive the invitation.
It is said that when the time came for the wedding procession of Lord Vishnu. All the gods came with their wives to the wedding ceremony.
All the gods saw that Lord Ganesha was nowhere to be seen. Because he did not receive an invitation to this function.
Then all the gods started discussing among themselves why Ganeshji has not been invited? Or has Ganeshji himself not come? Everyone started wondering about this.
Then all the gods thought that let’s ask Lord Vishnu the reason for this. All the deities went to Lord Vishnu and asked him. Why was Lord Ganesha not called? Lord Vishnu ji said that he has sent an invitation to Bholenath Mahadev ji, father of Ganeshji.
If Ganesh ji had wanted to come with his father, he would have come. Lord Vishnu ji said that there was no need to call him separately.
The second thing is that their food is concerned. They require one and a quarter maund of moong, a quarter maund of rice, a quarter maund of ghee and a quarter maund of laddu in a day. It doesn’t matter if Ganesh ji does not come.
Let me tell you that it does not feel good to go to someone else’s house and eat so much food and drink. While everyone was talking, someone suggested that Ganeshji should also come. So we will appoint them gatekeepers and ask them to take care of the house.
Then there is the concern of his ride. If Ganesh ji walks slowly sitting on a rat, he will be left far behind the procession. Everyone liked this suggestion, so Lord Vishnu also gave his consent.
Meanwhile, Ganeshji reached there and pacified him and made him sit for guarding the house. Let us tell you that now the wedding procession is about to take place. Seeing Ganeshji sitting at the door, Naradji went to Ganeshji and asked the reason for his stay.
Ganeshji told Narad ji that Lord Vishnu ji has insulted me a lot. Narad ji gave a suggestion to Ganeshji. Naradji said that you should send your mouse army forward. So they will dig all the way ahead.
Due to which their vehicles will sink into the earth. Then you have to call them respectfully.After listening to Narad ji, Ganesh ji immediately sent his mouse army forward. All efficiently polluted the land. When the procession was passing by, the wheels of the chariots sank into the earth.
All the wedding guests started removing the wheel. But despite many efforts, everything started becoming ineffective. But the wheels will not come off.
Let us tell you that everyone tried their own solutions, but the wheels did not come out. Rather, they broke at many places. No one could understand what to do now.
Then Naradji said- You people did not do well by insulting Ganeshji. If they are convinced then your work can be done. This crisis can be averted in a moment.
Now Lord Shankar sent his messenger Nandi. They brought Ganeshji. Lord Ganesha was worshiped with respect. Due to his kindness, now the wheels of the chariot started appearing outside. Now the wheels of the chariot are worn out. But if they break, who will repair them?
A Brahmin was working in a nearby field. He was summoned. Before doing his work, the Brahmin started worshiping Lord Ganesha by saying ‘Shri Ganeshaya Namah’ in his mind. Within no time the Brahmin repaired all the wheels.
That Brahmin started saying, O Gods! You must not have celebrated Lord Ganesha in the first place. Nor would he have been worshipped. That is why this crisis has arisen upon you.
We are foolish and ignorant in front of Lord Ganesha. Still, Lord Ganesha is worshiped first. Let’s pay attention to them.
You guys are gods. Then how did you forget Lord Ganesha? Now you people will go chanting Jai to Lord Shri Ganeshji. Then all your work will be completed and there will be no obstacles.
