  6. Wear auspicious clothes on this day. Stay away from black and semi-nude clothes.
  7. This fast should highlight your spiritual power. Build faith in God. Do not observe the fast for show.

Hartalika Teej Puja Vidhi

Hartalika Teej Puja Vidhi varies in regional places.

  • Take bath early in the morning on the day of the fast.
  • After that wear clean and neat clothes.
  • Take a pledge to keep a fast for Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. So that your fast is successful.
  • Make small idols of Shiva and Parvati from clay or sand. Install them at the place of worship.
  • Decorate the puja area with banana leaves and other things.
  • Now place fragrance, flowers, lamp, incense sticks etc. at the place of worship.
  • First of all, pray to Lord Ganesha as per the rituals.
  • Now do Jalabhishek to Lord Shiva. Offer him Belpatra, Dhatura, Bhaang etc.
  • Offer flowers, incense, lamps and Prasad to the idols.
  • Offer 5 types of things including saree to Goddess Parvati. Keep all the 16 items of makeup for her.
  • Now worship Goddess Parvati in a proper manner. Recite her mantra.
  • Now finish your morning worship. Take some rest.
  • Now during Pradosh Kaal, after sunset in the evening, decorate the place of worship again.
  • Now worship Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and Lord Ganesha.
  • Keep 5 types of fruits, flowers, incense, ghee, and lamps as worship material.
