Budha Pradosh Vrat 2024: Pradosh fast is special in Sanatan Dharma. Pradosh fast is observed on the Trayodashi date of Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha of every month.

The time after sunset is called Pradosh Kaal and the time before night is called Pradosh Kaal.

Although there is some fast on every date of every month in Hinduism, the Pradosh fast is of great importance in all.

On this day lord shiva and maa parvati are worshiped and fast is observed during Pradosh Kaal.

There is a religious belief that if Lord Mahadev is worshiped with a true heart, then the person gets auspicious results. 

Also, the blessings of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati always remain on the person.

This time budha Pradosh Vrat 2024 vrat will be observed on July 3. This time this fast is on Wednesday, so it will be called Budh Pradosh Vrat.

Importance Of Pradosh Vrat

Pradosh means the beginning of the night. ‘Pradosh Rajnimukham’ now the beginning of the night is known as Pradosh.

Pradosh Vrat is related to Lord Shiva. During this time Shiva becomes happy and dances on Kailash.

The person who does Shiva Sadhna now gets infallible results.

Ravana pleases Shiva during this Pradosh Kaal, due to which he got Siddhas.

Pradosh Vrat Puja Vidhi

  • On the day of Pradosh Vrat, one should wake up early in the morning and take a bath. Then wear clean clothes. After that, you should clean the temple of your house.
  • Then light a lamp in the temple of your house. Then light a lamp of cow ghee under the banana tree as well.
  • After that you should chant Lord Shiva’s mantra Om Namah Shivay and Narayan ji in your mind throughout the day.
  • After chanting, Lord Shankar ji should be anointed with Ganga water and flowers should be offered to him.
  • On the day of Pradosh Vrat, worship Mother Parvati ji and Lord Ganesha along with Bholenath ji. Then worship everyone with roli mauli rice, incense, and lamp.
  • You should offer whole rice kheer to Lord Shiva on this day.
  • After offering the bhog, one should do the aarti of Lord Bholenath and meditate on him throughout the day.

Do This Work On The Day Of Pradosh Vrat

  • It is believed that on the day of Budha Pradosh Vrat, Mahadev Ji and Maa Parvati Ji should be worshipped properly.
  • On this day, white sandalwood should be applied on the Shivling and a garland of flowers, bhang, and bel leaves should be offered to them.
  • Aarti and Shiv Chalisa should be recited while worshiping on the day of Budha Pradosh.
  • After performing Aarti and recitation, fruits, sweets, and kheer should be offered to Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati.
  • You can also do Bhajan Kirtan on this day, which is also considered very auspicious.
  • Also, on this day, donations should be made to the poor according to your faith, this pleases God.

Do Not Do These Things On Pradosh Vrat

  • On the day of Pradosh Vrat, one should not insult any person even by mistake. Especially do not use abusive language with the elderly and women.
  • On this day, you should not keep any wrong thoughts in your mind towards anyone.
  • On this day, one should not consume tamasic food.
  • Coconut water, Tulsi, and Kumkum should not be offered to Lord Bholenath.
  • One should not wear black clothes on this day. Doing so is considered inauspicious and doing any of these things makes Lord Bholenath angry.
